Autonomous data logger for water level monitoring in 2" pipes

Hydrolog HLF4

Autonomous data logger for water level monitoring records level, temperature and conductivity, with 0/4…20 mA, RS485 Modbus RTU and switch inputs plus secure remote transmission.

Introduction

Water level monitoring in narrow pipes needs compact hardware that can keep working without routine site visits. Designed for level tubes from 2", this autonomous data logger records measured values from connected level probes, ultrasonic or radar sensors and similar sensor technology, then transmits them to a web portal or FTP server via cellular networks.

Flexible inputs help you standardize different measuring points with one device concept. The logger supports 0/4…20 mA current signals, RS485 Modbus RTU and pulse or switch inputs, powers connected sensors directly and stores values in non-volatile memory with capacity for at least 800,000 measured values.

For outdoor and flooded locations, the sealed housing provides ingress protection (IP68) and is submersible up to 3 m. Bluetooth® configuration, alarm management for flooding or low water levels and battery, rechargeable battery, PV module or DC supply options make it well suited for autonomous water monitoring points.

Features

Alarm management

The device supports alarm functions for timely detection and reporting of hazards caused by flooding or low water levels.

Bluetooth® operation

Configuration and operation can be performed via the integrated Bluetooth® interface or through the web portal.

Sensor power supply

Four transmitter power outputs provide temporary power for connected sensors, with channels for 16.6 V and 6.7 V supply.

Cellular communication

The communication interface uses 4G LTE-M1 or LTE-NB2 with fallback to 2G EGPRS and supports an internal SIM plus external Micro-SIM.

Pipe mounting

The in-pipe housing has a 48 mm diameter for direct mounting in 2" plugs. Adapter plates are available for larger plugs.

Time synchronization

The logger uses a quartz frequency standard and supports daily Internet time synchronization for time accuracy up to ≤± 4 s/month.
