Ethernet data logger for RS485 Modbus-RTU sensors and rain gauge inputs

HD50R-MB

Ethernet data logger for RS485 Modbus-RTU sensor networks and rain gauge contact input, with internal memory up to 890,500 samples, Modbus TCP/IP and e-mail/FTP/HTTP data transfer.

Introduction

When you need to centralize environmental measurements from multiple RS485 sensors, a logger that speaks Modbus and sits on a DIN rail keeps the installation clean and serviceable. HD50R-MB acquires sensors via a Master RS485 Modbus-RTU input and stores measurements in its internal memory, making it suitable for applications that combine weather and environmental parameters in one logging point.

Alongside Modbus sensor acquisition, a voltage-free contact input allows connection of a tipping-bucket rain gauge. The logger calculates rainfall rate in mm/h (based on the last five minutes) and the daily rainfall quantity. Two alarm thresholds per detected quantity can be set with configurable hysteresis and delay, with alarm signaling via internal buzzer and alarm e-mails.

For integration into IT and automation networks, HD50R-MB connects to an Ethernet local network and supports simultaneous operation of proprietary TCP/IP and Modbus TCP/IP protocols, managing up to 10 TCP/IP clients. If the LAN has Internet access, the logger can send data via e-mail, FTP and to an HTTP server, supporting cloud or server-based collection. Configuration is performed with HD35AP-S software via USB or Ethernet.
