Reliable air measurements start with a meter that fits the work on site. For HVAC commissioning, ventilation checks and environmental comfort assessment, this portable thermo-anemometer measures air speed, calculated flow rate and temperature inside ducts, vents and pipelines.
The instrument works with hot-wire or vane probes for air speed and flow, and with Pt100 or Pt1000 probes for temperature-only measurements by immersion, penetration, air or contact. SICRAM probe modules store factory calibration data and allow automatic recognition at switch-on, reducing setup effort before each measurement. Flow rate is calculated from the duct section entered in the menu, from 0.0001…1.9999 m².
Daily field use is supported by a large 52 x 42 mm LCD, Max, Min and Avg values, HOLD, REL and selectable units for speed, flow rate and temperature. The ABS housing has ingress protection (IP) IP67, and the instrument runs up to 200 hours with 1800 mAh alkaline batteries, except when using hot-wire probes.
The instrument accepts AP471 hot-wire probes, AP472 vane probes, Pt100 probes with SICRAM module, and direct Pt100 or Pt1000 temperature probes via the required connector configuration.
The menu allows entry of the duct or vent section area in m² or inch². The instrument then calculates flow rate in selectable units including l/s, m³/s, m³/min, m³/h, ft³/s and ft³/min.
Air speed can be displayed in m/s, km/h, ft/min, mph or knot. Temperature can be displayed in °C or °F, depending on the selected probe and measurement mode.
A FAST or SLOW filter can be selected for air speed and flow rate measurements, including applications where turbulence may cause fluctuating readings.
Temperature-only measurements are supported with immersion, penetration, air and contact probes using Pt100 or Pt1000 sensors, depending on the connected probe type.
AutoPowerOff switches the instrument off after about 8 minutes without key operation and can be disabled when continuous use is required.
