Portable photo-radiometer for light and UV measurement

HD2302.0

Portable photo-radiometer for illuminance, luminance, PAR and irradiance measurement, with SICRAM probe detection, lux, cd/m², µmol/(m²⋅s), W/m² and µW/cm² units, IP67 housing and 200-hour battery autonomy.

Introduction

Light and radiation checks often move between benches, installations and field locations. This portable photo-radiometer gives technicians one handheld instrument for illuminance, luminance, PAR and irradiance measurements, including VIS-NIR, UVA, UVB, UVC and effective UV irradiance according to the UV action curve.

Setup stays simple when tasks change. Compatible LP471 probes use SICRAM automatic detection, with factory calibration data stored in the probe and automatic unit selection by the instrument. The large LCD supports clear on-site reading, while Max, Min, Avg, REL and HOLD functions help capture changing light conditions without extra equipment.

Built for portable work, the instrument combines IP67 ingress protection with an ABS housing, 140 x 88 x 38 mm dimensions and a weight of 160 g with batteries. It operates from 5…50 °C and runs for up to 200 hours on 3 AA alkaline batteries, making it a practical choice for repeated photometric and radiometric measurements.

Wide light coverage
Measures illuminance, luminance, PAR and irradiance across VIS-NIR, UVA, UVB and UVC regions.
Faster probe setup
SICRAM probes are detected automatically, with calibration data stored inside the probe.
Field-ready housing
IP67 ingress protection supports portable use in demanding measurement environments.
Long battery runtime
Runs up to 200 hours on 3 AA alkaline batteries for extended measurement sessions.
Clear on-site display
Large 52 x 42 mm LCD shows readings with 2x4½ digits plus symbols.

Features

Supported quantities

The instrument measures illuminance, luminance, PAR and irradiance. Depending on the connected probe, it works with lux, fcd, W/m², µW/cm², µmol/(m²⋅s), cd/m² and µW/lumen.

LP471 probe compatibility

The 8-pole DIN45326 input connects LP471 photometric, radiometric, PAR, pyranometer and combined probes with SICRAM modules. The probe must be connected before the instrument is switched on.

Measurement controls

The keyboard provides Max, Min and Avg calculation, REL relative measurement and HOLD value freeze. The CLR key resets captured maximum, minimum and average values for a new session.

Automatic unit selection

The instrument assigns the measurement unit according to the connected probe. With combined probes, the UNIT key selects the available measured quantity shown on the display.

Portable power supply

The instrument uses 3 1.5V AA batteries. AutoPowerOff switches the device off after about 8 minutes without key input and can be disabled when continuous operation is required.

Operating conditions

The housing is made from ABS and has IP67 ingress protection. The instrument operates at 5…50 °C and 0…90% RH without condensation, with storage from -25…+65 °C.
