RTD and thermocouple thermometer for portable temperature checks

HD2178

RTD and thermocouple thermometer for portable temperature checks with Pt100/Pt1000 and K, J, T, N, E probes, ranges to -200…+1370°C, 0.1°C resolution, IP66 protection and optional 80,000-sample logging.

Introduction

Mixed temperature tasks are easier to manage when one handheld instrument accepts both RTD and thermocouple probes. The HD2178 family measures with immersion, penetration, contact or air probes, combining input A for K, J, T, N or E thermocouples with input B for Pt100, Pt1000 or Ni1000 RTD probes.

For RTD measurement, the instrument covers Pt100 and Pt1000 ranges up to +650°C with ±0.05°C instrument accuracy. Thermocouple measurement extends the application range further, with type K up to +1370°C and type N up to +1300°C, both at 0.1°C resolution. SICRAM probe modules on input B store factory calibration settings and support automatic probe detection.

Daily measurement work is supported by a large LCD, MAX, MIN, AVG, REL and HOLD functions, IP66 protection and 200 hours autonomy with AA batteries. The HD2178.2 adds internal logging for up to 80,000 samples, with RS232C and USB 2.0 transfer for PC documentation.

Features

Thermocouple input

Input A uses a standard miniature connector and accepts K, J, T, N or E thermocouple probes selected through the menu.

RTD probe input

Input B uses an 8-pole DIN45326 connector for SICRAM Pt100 probes, direct 4-wire Pt100, 2-wire Pt1000 or 2-wire Ni1000 probes.

Probe recognition

SICRAM modules store factory calibration data and allow the instrument to read probe information when it is switched on.

Display functions

The large LCD supports current values, MAX, MIN, AVG, relative measurement and HOLD during portable use.

User calibration

The instrument provides factory calibration and allows user calibration of the instrument with the connected RTD or thermocouple probe.

Data logging

HD2178.2 records measurement blocks in internal memory and keeps stored data independently of battery charge conditions.

Communication ports

Measurements can be transferred in real time via electrically isolated RS232C; HD2178.2 also provides Mini-USB type B.

Power supply

The family operates with 4 x 1.5V AA batteries for 200 hours autonomy or with a 12Vdc mains adapter.
