Measurements in the field of building and architectural acoustics require controlled sound energy—whether isotropic or directional—that is sufficiently powerful for demanding sound insulation tests and linear across the frequency range of interest, to ensure results that comply with standards. The HD2050 family enables measurements of sound insulation and absorption, reverberation time, room acoustics, and impulse response, with dedicated sound sources for interior spaces and building facades.
The HD2050 dodecahedron radiates sound isotropically over a frequency range from 80 Hz to 16 kHz with a sound power level exceeding 122 dB re 1 pW. The directivity complies with EN ISO 140-3:2006 and EN ISO 3382:2001 standards, providing acoustic consultants and testing laboratories with an ideal source for standardized measurements.
For greater control in the field, the HD2050.20 digital amplifier features a built-in white/pink noise generator, response presets, and customizable equalization via Podware software. The HD2050.30 façade loudspeaker delivers 129 dB SPL at 1 m across the 70 Hz to 20 kHz range, while the HD2050.40 subwoofer extends the low-frequency response from 45 Hz to 120 Hz for large spaces and highly isolated structures.
The system includes the HD2050 dodecahedron, HD2050.20 digital amplifier/noise generator and related accessories. It can also operate with the HD2050.30 facade loudspeaker or the HD2050.40 subwoofer.
The HD2050.20 includes an internal white and pink noise generator with manual level control. An auxiliary input allows operation with an external generator for signals such as sine sweeps.
The amplifier provides selectable presets for the HD2050 dodecahedron and HD2050.30 facade loudspeaker. A separate User DSP function loads a correction curve created in Podware software.
The integrated HD2050.20R remote control kit operates the internal noise generator from up to 100 m. The system uses a portable transmitter and an integrated receiver with external antenna.
The HD2050.1 stand is retractable and extendible from 1300 mm to 2050 mm and includes wheels. The HD2050.30.2 support positions the facade loudspeaker at 45° on the ground or on the stand.
Source connections use Neutrik speakON connectors. The amplifier includes Neutrik XLR output, Combo input, NL4FC speakON output, powerCON AC power connection and USB for PC-based DSP management.
