High-insulation building elements and large-volume rooms can demand more low-frequency energy than a dodecahedron alone can provide. HD2050.40 extends the HD2050 system for sound insulation, sound absorption and reverberation time measurements where strong excitation at lower frequencies is needed.
Used with the HD2050 dodecahedron and HD2050.20 digital power amplifier, the passive subwoofer delivers 130 dB spl Peak @ 1 m across 45 Hz to 120 Hz. This gives acoustic laboratories, consultants and materials manufacturers a practical way to excite rooms in demanding low-frequency measurement conditions.
Its band-pass design radiates through front and rear resonant cavities, improving low-frequency efficiency while reducing membrane movement compared with reflex systems. The LF 1 x 12” neodymium driver, 500 W RMS rating and 22 kg cabinet with anti-scratch gelcoat support reliable use in specialist building acoustics applications.
The subwoofer radiates through front and rear resonant cavities rather than direct radiation.
The acoustic section uses an LF 1 x 12” loudspeaker with a neodymium magnet.
Two Neutrik® NL4 speakON connectors provide the signal connection to the system.
The subwoofer is designed to be combined with the HD2050 dodecahedron and HD2050.20 digital power amplifier.
The 22 kg cabinet uses an anti-scratch gelcoat finish for use in acoustic measurement environments.
