The HD2024 Sound Calibrator is a portable, battery-operated sound source for calibration and check of microphones and sound level meters. It is designed for field use and laboratories and conforms to the requirements in IEC 60942 for a class 1 sound calibrator.
Emission signal is 1 kHz at 94 dB.
The signal is generated by a piezoceramic source inside the acoustic coupler. An internal sensor measures the level in the coupler and a feedback circuit accurately adjusts the level so that the calibration level is virtually independent of ambient conditions like atmospheric pressure, temperature and humidity within the specified range of operation.
The calibrator allows adjustment of 1/2” and 1/4” (with adapter).
HD2024 is powered from one 9V alkaline battery (6LR61). If the voltage supplied by the batteries is too low to ensure proper operation, the calibrator will automatically switch off or not switch on.
The calibrator generates a stable 94.0 dB sound pressure level at 1000 Hz, referred to 20 μPa.
The coupling cavity accepts standard ½" microphones according to IEC 61094-1 and IEC 61094-4.
The optional HD2020AD4 adapter allows calibration of ¼" microphones.
The electronics use an oscillator, RMS converter, automatic gain control and feedback sensor to regulate the acoustic signal.
The instrument uses a 9 V alkaline battery and indicates insufficient charge with a LOW BATT LED.
The calibrator operates from -10 ÷ +50 °C and ≤ 90%RH, with ABS housing and IP64 protection.
