Luminance transmitters for tunnel and road lighting control

HD2021T7 / HD2021T6

Luminance transmitters for tunnel and road lighting control convert cd/m2 values into 0…10 V or 4…20 mA, with ranges up to 200 kcd/m2, IP52 protection and versions for Lv, Latm and L20 measurement.

Introduction

Tunnel entrances and road lighting systems need dependable luminance data to support safe, standard-based control. The HD2021T7 and HD2021T6 transmitters convert luminance-related photometric quantities into 0…10 V or 4…20 mA signals, with the current version required when the acquisition station is more than 50 m from the probe.

The HD2021T7 measures equivalent veiling luminance for threshold luminance evaluation at tunnel entrances according to UNI 11095, with full-scale options of 2000 cd/m2 or 20000 cd/m2. The HD2021T6 measures luminance at a 20° field of view for road lighting control and L20 assessment according to CIE 88:2004, with selectable ranges of 2 kcd/m2, 20 kcd/m2 or 200 kcd/m2.

Both probes use a silicon photodiode and filters that match the photopic response of the human eye, with f'1 <9% according to V(λ). IP52 protection, -20° to +60° C operation and calibration against an integrating sphere support reliable integration in outdoor lighting and tunnel monitoring systems.

Features

Equivalent veiling luminance

The HD2021T7 converts equivalent veiling luminance into 0…10 V or 4…20 mA for tunnel entrance threshold luminance assessment.

Atmospheric luminance version

The HD2021T7.2 measures luminance with a 2° angle for atmospheric luminance Latm applications.

20° luminance measurement

The HD2021T6 measures luminance with a total field of view of 20° for L20 assessment and general luminance tasks.

Selectable output type

Versions are available with voltage output or current output, using the connection diagrams defined for 0…10 V and 4…20 mA.

Factory range selection

The full scale is selected at order time from the listed model ranges. Custom ranges are available for minimum orders of 5 pieces.

Calibration method

Calibration is performed by measuring luminance at the output port of an integrating sphere with known luminance.
