Reliable precipitation data starts with a stable measuring point, especially in outdoor stations exposed to changing weather. HD2013 measures rainfall with a tipping bucket principle and supports liquid precipitation as standard, with heated versions available for mixed and solid precipitation.
The rugged metal base, aluminum collector cylinder and corrosion-resistant materials make it a dependable choice for long-term environmental monitoring. A removable filter helps keep debris away from the collector opening, while the non-adherent cone treatment supports consistent water flow during measurement.
Commissioning is practical in the field. The rain gauge is supplied already calibrated, with the calibration value shown on the instrument label, and an internal bubble level supports correct horizontal positioning. Integration is flexible through the standard contact output or optional 4…20 mA, 0…10 V and SDI-12 outputs.
The collector cone channels water into a calibrated tipping bucket. Each tip opens the reed contact briefly and sends an impulse to a counter or data logger.
The standard version uses a voltage-free contact output. Variants are available with 4…20 mA, 0…10 V or SDI-12 output for integration into monitoring systems.
Heated models use 12 Vdc or 24 Vdc power depending on the version. Heating activates around +4 °C to help prevent snow deposits and ice formations.
The rain gauge can be installed on the ground with adjustable support feet or raised above the ground using the optional support bracket and mast.
A removable filter in the collector cone supports periodic cleaning. The cone is treated with a non-adherent product to improve water flow.
Correction curves can reduce error as a function of rainfall rate. With analog and SDI-12 output options, the curve can be stored in the rain gauge itself.
