Leak-water detector for water damage protection

GEWAS 191

Leak-water detector for water-connected machines, triggering from a 0.5 mm water film with audible alarm, optional GMV 191 valve shut-off and 16 A machine switch-off.

Introduction

A small leak can become expensive quickly when machines, filters or water treatment systems run unattended. This leak-water detector monitors the floor with a compact water sensor and reacts as soon as a water film exceeds 0.5 mm.

In alarm condition, the device gives an audible warning and, depending on the variant, closes a GMV 191 solenoid valve to stop the water supply. AN and ANOV versions also switch off connected equipment through the integrated socket, with a switching current up to 16 A. This helps protect washing machines, dishwashers, water filters, reverse osmosis systems, pumps and water treatment installations.

Mains operation avoids battery changes, while the N and AN versions briefly actuate the solenoid valve approx. every 24 hours to reduce the risk of limescale-related sticking. Sensor monitoring adds another layer of control: the alarm also triggers if the water sensor is unintentionally disconnected.

Early leak alert
The water sensor triggers from a 0.5 mm water film and gives an audible alarm.
Stops water flow
N and AN variants close a GMV 191 solenoid valve when water is detected.
Protects machines
AN and ANOV switch off connected equipment via an integrated socket up to 16 A.
No battery changes
220 - 240V mains operation supports continuous monitoring.
Valve care
N and AN briefly actuate the valve every approx. 24 hours to reduce limescale risk.

Features

Water sensor input

The GWF-1S water sensor plugs into the control unit and can be positioned where both metal electrodes contact leaking water early.

Variant concept

N versions control a solenoid valve. AN versions add machine switch-off. ANOV versions provide machine switch-off without solenoid valve connection.

Alarm monitoring

The device signals water detection, disconnected water sensors and, on valve-control versions, missing or defective solenoid valves.

Control output

AN and ANOV versions switch the integrated socket in the device housing. The switching voltage corresponds to the supply voltage.

Sensor expansion

Several water sensors can be connected with the GAZ-1 branch connector. Extension cables are available in 2 m, 5 m and 10 m lengths.

Operating conditions

The control unit is specified for 0 to 50 °C and 0 to 90 %RH, non-condensing, with ingress protection IP20.
