Soil moisture can change quickly in the field, greenhouse or substrate, and reliable readings help you decide with confidence. The DX 721 measures volumetric water content in typical agricultural soils and also records temperature, giving you two key parameters for agricultural and horticultural monitoring with one digital probe.
For flexible work, it suits both fast measurements at changing locations and long term monitoring in fixed locations. The standard calibration achieves up to ±3% VWC in mineral soils with medium salinity from 0 to 50% VWC; with soil-specific calibration, accuracy of up to ±1% VWC can be achieved.
Fully calibrated and interchangeable sensors make daily handling straightforward: plug in and measure with a suitable PRO D01 or PRO D05 meter. Low power consumption of typically 0.5 mA and operation from -40…+80 °C / 0…100 %RH support stable use in demanding field conditions.
The probe uses TDT high frequency measurement across a 110x30 mm measuring area to determine volumetric water content in soil.
An IC sensor measures temperature alongside soil moisture, allowing one probe to capture both parameters during field or fixed-location monitoring.
Measurement is possible in other materials, including mineral wool, coconut fiber, wood fiber and paper, with interpretation or calibration for the specific material.
The sensor uses the DX-Sensor-Interface and connects via a 4-pole M12 connector with PVC cable lengths of 2 or 5 m.
The probe can be used with PRO D01 and PRO D05 meters. PRO D05.2 and PRO D05.3 support up to 2 or 3 digital probes respectively.
