Level switching is easier to adapt when the switching point can be set directly at the vessel. Capcont LS monitors limit levels capacitively in liquids, viscous media, granular materials and powders, including electrically conductive and non-conductive media.
The adjustable sliding sleeve allows the response height to be set as required during installation. This makes the sensor well suited for vessel limit detection and dry-run protection for pumps, while the integrated evaluation electronics provide a PNP switching signal for relays, contactors, solenoid valves, indicators, horns or PLC inputs.
Capcont LS combines a compact stainless steel design with PTFE electrode rod insulation, M12x1 connection and ingress protection (IP68) for 3mH2O for 1h. Standard versions cover process temperatures from -40 °C to +100 °C, with probe rod lengths up to 750 mm.
The electrode rod, medium and vessel wall form an electrical capacitor. The electronics evaluate the capacitance change and issue a switching command.
The LS version is installed with the SAMV-63 sliding sleeve, allowing mechanical height adjustment of the switching point.
The electronics provide 1x PNP transistor output. The output can drive relays, contactors, solenoid valves, indicators, horns and PLC inputs.
The electrode rod insulation is PTFE. The process connection uses stainless steel 1.4404/316L or 1.4571/316Ti, with FPM or EPDM process seals.
The response sensitivity is adjusted with a multi-turn trimmer. A rear LED indicates the output switching state.
