Capacitive level switch for hygienic liquid level detection

Capcont LL

Capacitive level switch for hygienic level detection in vessels. It monitors limits in media up to +140 °C and -1 to 10 bar, with PEEK insulation, elastomer-free sealing and 1x PNP output.

Introduction

Hygienic vessels need reliable level detection without unnecessary gaps or elastomer contact in the process. Capcont LL monitors limit levels capacitively and converts the detected change into a switching command, helping users control filling points or protect process steps with a clear PNP switching signal.

The design is made for hygienic installation with a gap-free metallic seal and a matching weld-in sleeve. PEEK electrode rod insulation, stainless steel process connection materials 1.4404/316L or 1.4571/316Ti and a CrNi steel connection housing support use in demanding process environments.

For applications with changing process conditions, the sensor covers -40 °C to +140 °C and -1 to 10 bar. Integrated evaluation electronics, M12x1 connection and ingress protection (IP68) for 3mH2O for 1h make Capcont LL a compact choice for level and limit detection in hygienic containers.

Features

Capacitive limit detection

The electrode rod, medium and vessel wall form an electrical capacitor. A change in capacitance is evaluated by the electronics and converted into a switching command.

Hygienic process connection

The LL version uses a G½" B process connection for installation in SEM-22 or SEM-42 weld-in sleeves with metallic sealing.

Materials in contact

The electrode rod insulation is PEEK. The process connection uses stainless steel 1.4404/316L or 1.4571/316Ti.

Electrical connection

The sensor uses an M12x1 connector with a CrNi steel socket, PUR insert and gold-plated contacts.

Signal indication and setup

The switching state is indicated by a rear LED. The response sensitivity is adjusted with a multi-turn trimmer.
