Introduction

Temperature checks in molten aluminum demand a probe that combines accuracy with mechanical resilience. Designed for short-term immersion in aluminum melts from 580 to 680 °C and similar non-ferrous metal melts, this probe gives field users a robust alternative to sensitive ceramic sensors.

The mineral-insulated thermocouple covers a wide measuring range from -200 to +1000 °C, while Class 1 thermocouple material supports precise readings across demanding temperature tasks. A reinforced Ø 6 mm V4A stainless steel tube helps the probe withstand aggressive aluminum environments, with a geometry balanced for response speed and robustness.

Handling remains practical on site. The ergonomic PA6-GF30 handle is rated up to +120 °C, the housing offers water protection IP67 (except the connector), and the cable can be specified with a miniature flat pin plug or loose ends with ferrules. Optional ISO 9001 or DAkkS-/ACCREDIA accredited calibration is available with a suitable display instrument.

Features

Immersion design

The probe is designed for immersion temperature measurement and short-term use in molten aluminum and similar applications.

Stem construction

The rigid probe tube is made from rustproof, temperature-resistant 1.4404 (V4A) stainless steel with additional internal sheathed thermocouple construction. Though the tube will be degraded over time, the enormus strength will support ling life while beeing still very economical.

Probe length variants

The product family includes probe lengths of 700 mm, 1000 mm and 1200 mm to match different immersion depths.
