Air Speed calibration

Air speed and air velocity calibration for hot-wire, vane, cup and ultrasonic anemometers, as well as Pitot and Darcy tubes, with ISO/IEC 17025 accredited calibration certificates or ISO 9001 calibration reports. ISO 9001 wind direction calibration is also available for wind vanes and multi-axis ultrasonic anemometers.

Air speed and anemometer calibration services

Two closed-cycle Göttingen-type wind tunnels covering air speeds from 0.1 to 60 m/s.

The Padua Air Speed Laboratory calibrates air velocity and wind measurement instruments from Senseca and other manufacturers. Services include ISO/IEC 17025 accredited air speed calibration under ACCREDIA and ISO 9001 calibration reports for air speed and wind direction.

The laboratory operates two closed-cycle Göttingen-type wind tunnels designed to provide stable and uniform airflow. The GV3 tunnel has a 320 mm circular test section and covers air speeds from 0.1 to 35 m/s. The GV1 tunnel has a 600 mm circular test section and covers air speeds from 1 to 60 m/s. Each wind tunnel is equipped with an LDA reference anemometer.

Accredited calibration is available for eligible anemometers and Pitot tubes within the published ACCREDIA scope. Wind direction calibration is provided with ISO 9001 calibration reports for wind vanes and the direction channels of 2- and 3-axis ultrasonic anemometers.

What instruments can we calibrate?

We calibrate Senseca instruments and instruments from other brands.

Below you will find the main instrument families and typical configurations covered by our air speed and wind direction calibration services. Accredited calibration is available where the instrument type, dimensions and requested measuring range fall within the applicable ACCREDIA scope.

ACCREDIA | ISO 9001
Hot-wire anemometers
Calibration of hot-wire anemometers and probes used for low air velocity and dynamic airflow measurements in ducts, pipelines and confined spaces. Depending on the selected configuration, calibration is available from 0.1 m/s.
