Configuration of the HD2003 U.S. Anemometer and the HD52.3D U.S. Anemometer

View the RS485 port arrangement

In the upper part of the configuration windows, select the anemometer model to be connected.

Quantities (Number of measured quantities)
Select the number of physical quantities that you wish to capture from the anemometer. The value can be set from 1 to 10, the default value is 5.
For the HD2003 and HD52.3D147 models, the order of the first 5 quantities is fixed: Wind Speed, Wind Direction, Pressure, Temperature, Relative Humidity.
For the HD2003.1 and HD52.3D models, the order of the first 2 quantities is fixed: Wind Speed and Wind Direction.

Name
Enter an identifying name for each of the quantities to be acquired. You can assign as the name, for example, the type of measured quantity. The name should begin with a letter and can be maximum 12 characters long. The name unequivocally identifies the measurement being input; you cannot assign the same name to multiple measurements.

Unit (Unit of measurement)
Select a unit of measurement for Wind Speed amongst the proposed ones. The unit of measurement should be identical to the one set in the anemometer.
The unit of measurement of the other quantities is fixed.
If you have optional quantities, in addition to those set by the program, write the relative units of measurement in the Unit field (max. 12 characters starting with a letter).

Baud rate
Select the communication speed of the anemometer.

Address
Anemometer RS485 address. The software automatically assigns the address. The number is not editable by the user.

Configuration of the anemometer
For a correct functioning of the system, the anemometer should be configured in advance according to the following settings:
1. The measured quantities transfer order should match the order programmed in the datalogger.
2. The wind speed unit of measurement set in the anemometer should match the one programmed in the datalogger.
3. Average measurement period of 1 second.
4. RS485 communication mode.
5. The RS485 Address must match the one programmed into the data logger.
6. The communication speed (Baud rate) must match the one programmed into the data logger.

Error messages

If the configuration parameters are not correctly input, you can get the following error messages.

The name and Unit fields are required !
Cause: the identification name or the unit of measurement fields were not filled.

There is just an equivalent Name !
Cause: you previously entered a sensor with the same name. You should change the identification name.
