Type (Type of thermocouple)
In the Type field, select the type of thermocouple to be connected to the datalogger input. You can connect thermocouples of type K, J, T, N, R, S, B or E.
Name
Identification name of the sensor. You can assign the name, for example, of the sensor model, or the type of measured parameter. The name should begin with a letter and can be maximum 12 characters long. The name unequivocally identifies the measurement being input; you cannot assign the same name to multiple measurements.
Unit (Unit of measurement)
Select the desired unit of measurement amongst: deg C (Celsius degrees), deg F (Fahrenheit degrees) and deg K (Kelvin degrees).
The datalogger calculates the value of the temperature corresponding to the input voltage in mV, and directly records the temperature value in the chosen unit of measurement.
Channel BIP
It indicates the number of the analog input to which the sensor should be connected. The software automatically assigns the first input free. The number cannot be changed by the user.
Reference Junction (Cold junction)
The fixed value is Internal. The cold junction is located at the datalogger connection point and its temperature is measured by a temperature sensor inside the datalogger. You do not need to connect external sensors for the cold junction compensation.
Temp Range °C
It indicates the temperature range of the selected thermocouple type. The displayed value is set automatically according to the option selected in the Type field.
Error messages
If the configuration parameters are not correctly input, you can get the following error messages.
The name and Unit fields are required !
Cause: the identification name or the unit of measurement fields were not filled.
There is just an equivalent Name !
Cause: you previously entered a sensor with the same name. You should change the identification name.
